Trendy furniture in sustainable wood

Sustainable wood means wood that has been procured from sustainably managed forests and is certified to be legal and ethical. While wood by itself is a carbon neutral material, rampant logging without a long-term view has led to destruction of forests ravaging the ecosystems that thrive in them. On the other hand, sustainably managed forests ensure that the ecology and people dependent on forests are not adversely impacted in the process of procuring wood products.

Canadian Wood comes from the sustainably managed forests of British Columbia (B.C.), Canada and is certified by PEFC/ FSC. It is a truly sustainable wood, which is beautiful, versatile and in some cases naturally durable. Species of Western Hemlock, Douglas-fir, Yellow-Cedar, SPF, Western Red Cedar are now available in India as sawn lumber.  Wood varieties of Western Hemlock, Douglas-fir and a few other Canadian Wood species are the perfect material for furniture due to easy workability and the ability to take on a range of stains and finishes easily.

Here are some exciting furniture pieces created with Canadian Wood species by manufacturers globally and in India.
